The Texas Photography Festival founded by former White House Chief Photographer, David Valdez and hosted by The Williamson Museum in Georgetown, Texas has become an annual event that I have enjoyed being a part of from the very beginning.  In 2019, David invited me to be a “Featured Photographer” at the very first festival. As a Featured Photographer, I displayed a curated collection of my “Texas-inspired” photographs and spent the entire day talking about photography with people that love this art form as much as I do.

The festival hosts Featured Photographers in and around business venues around the downtown Square and the streets literally buzzes with activity and hundreds of people throughout the day move from one activity to another.

As the festival grows so have the opportunities – you can join several different photo walks, attend educational classes, and since 2022, The Happiness Hour has been a part of the festival.   At our “Live” and “in Person” sessions, I host guest speakers on various photography topics. And, the best part --- all of these events (except for the classes) have been FREE and geared towards photographers using their phone cameras to the current mirrorless camera. But the best part about the festival is the community of photographers that you’ll meet.

As we begin planning for the 6th Annual festival, keep your eyes on The Texas Photography Festival website.  Another great event is slated for Saturday, March 15, 2025

Hope to see you there!
