Hello,
Welcome to the Texas Through Her Lens invitation to participate in the Williamson Museum exhibition. For those of you unfamiliar with @texasthroughherlens, it is an Instagram page that I curate to promote and support Texas women photographers.
TTHL is a very small page if you count “follows” and “likes” — but it is a community of women who are passionate about sharing their views of Texas through their love of photography. TTHL’s purpose is to introduce you to new photographers, connect you to the ones you are following, encourage you to learn more about photography, and to inspire you to explore other parts of Texas.
As the curator of the page, I hope that each of you finds inspiration, creativity, and many opportunities to make beautiful images this year. @TexasThroughHerLens has been a joy to curate and I love sharing all of YOUR Texas stories. Every photo represents a moment preserved and important to you. By sharing how you view your corner of the State, you are introducing a stranger to take a peek into what you love, where you call home, and the places you visit in this diverse and beautiful state.
In October, I will curate an exhibition titled “Texas Through Her Lens: Frames of Purpose” for The Williamson Museum (@williamsonmuseum) in Georgetown, Texas.
This juried show will feature work from seven women photographers, each sharing images that reflect a personal cause or passion—whether it’s wildlife conservation, cultural preservation, faith, mental health advocacy, education, or another mission close to their heart.
The exhibit will open with a public reception on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and remain on display through October 31.
