Welcome to the Happiness Hour Community Blog

What began as an informal meetup on Zoom has evolved into a comprehensive one-hour photography presentation led by a knowledgable and passionate creative during the Happiness Hour.  As speakers continue to be added to the schedule, the idea of building a photography community blog seemed to be a logical step and another avenue to introduce new ideas, inspiration, and create a bigger network of creatives to learn from.

Beginning in mid-January, we hope to have the first article up on the blog.  Because this is a community project, submissions are open to anyone to participate.  The guidelines for submissions can be found here and sent to happinesshourcommunity@gmail.com.

When I’m not traveling, I’m daydreaming about my next trip.  The only types of photographs I won’t shoot are human portraits.  If you blink, breathe, or complain about your hair — I’m out!  My current challenge is photographing wildlife, particularly birds.

I divide my time between the Texas Hill Country and on the coast of South Padre Island.   I spent many years long ago in the dark room printing my own black & white images.  I like street photography, but I’m intrigued by patterns and textures in the environment (both natural and constructed).
